Berwyn Lodge

BERWYN LODGE No 9999 A SHORT HISTORY The Berwyn Lodge was established from the Llyn Tegid Lodge which had it's meeting at the Goat Hotel in Bala. The Lodge was part of the Cambrian Province and it was felt by the members that it was a long way to travel to Harlech or Barmouth to attend PGL a round trip of over 100 miles. On 25th March 1975 the Berwyn Lodge No 9999 was opened by the then Provincial Grand Primo Bro Gordon Valentine ROH in the Owain Glyndwr Hotel Corwen. It has had a few homes including the Central Hotel Corwen before moving back to the Owain Glyndwr Hotel in 2007 when the Central Hotel closed. On the right a rare photograph !! ALL the Lodge members together in one room !!!!

LODGE ANNIVERSARY DINNER 2011

On 21st May 2011 the Berwyn Lodge held their Anniversary Dinner at the Wild Pheasant Hotel Llangollen. The Principal Guest this year was Bro Norman York ROH Grand Treasurer Grand Lodge of England, Grand Primo 2004, accompanied by his good lady Josie. Also present was the Provincial Grand Primo Wrexham & District Province Bro Glyn Davies ROH who is also a member of the Lodge. Many guests attended the dinner from all over the country including the Provincial Grand Primos of Gosport Bro Paul Short KOM and his partner Tracey Saunders and of Rhyl Bro Alvan Davies ROH with his good lady Helen. Bro Norman presented Bro Iorwerth Lloyd ROH with the Province's Man of Worth Collarette and Bro Keiran Allsopp-Robson presented Bro Paul Short with a tankard to assist with his Appeal. A very good evening was had by all. The date for the next Anniversary Dinner is 12th May 2012 again at the Wild Pheasant Hotel Llangollen. Contact Lodge or Webmaster for more info. THEY FINALLY DID IT !!!

Not only did the Berwyn Lodge celebrate their Anniversary Dinner on 21st May 2011 but one member decided to make it his Wedding Day. Not content with organising the Dinner he decided to organise a Wedding for the same day. Bro Keiran Robson ROH married his partner Barbara Allsopp at 12:00 on 21st May 2011 at Corwen Parish Church. Many of the guests of the Dinner were also present at the Wedding. The Bride was given away by her brother Stan with his wife Kath as the Maid of Honour. Bro Keiran's son Damian was the Best Man. The Lodge and the Province wish Bro Keiran and Barbara, now known as Mr & Mrs Allsopp-Robson, a long and happy life together.
