BERWYN LODGE No 9999 A SHORT HISTORY

The Berwyn Lodge was established from the Llyn Tegid Lodge which had it's meeting at the Goat Hotel in Bala.  The Lodge was part of the Cambrian Province and it was felt by the members that it was a long way to travel to Harlech or Barmouth to attend PGL a round trip of over 100 miles.

On 25th May 1975 the Berwyn Lodge No 9999 was opened by the then Provincial Grand Primo Bro Gordon Valentine ROH in the Owain Glyndwr Hotel Corwen.

It has had a few homes including the Central Hotel Corwen before moving back to the Owain Glyndwr Hotel in 2007 when the Central Hotel closed.

MEMBERS OF THE LODGE AT THE

MAYOR's PARLOUR

The Mayor of Wrexham Councillor Alan Edwards invited members of the Lodge to visit the Mayor's Parlour in reciprocation of the invites he had received to the Lodge Dinner and the Investiture of the Deputy Grand Primo Bro David.

Seven members of the Lodge, Bros David, Glyn. Keiran, Bob, Geraint and Norman visited the Parlour on 16th June 2014.  They were entertained by the Mayor and the Mayoress Glenys Edwards.  They visited the Council Chambers and were given a history of the Queens Mace.

A very enjoyable afternoon was spent by all.  The photos show the group at the Parlour.  Note that the Mace is bigger than both Bros Geraint and Glyn !
